Squeals of excitement have eeked out of Potter fans all over the world as, in the last 24-hours, it has been announced that an eighth book will in fact become available this summer 2016.
We learned a little while ago that the story of what happened beyond Hogwarts would be created as a stage play, but for those of us who might not be able to journey to London's West End to catch the performance were disappointed at the thought of missing out.
Well this week - Pottermore, J. K. Rowling's site dedicated to filling in the gaps between the lines of the Harry Potter series - has announced that the script from the stage play will be compiled, bound and released for people to read.
Fittingly, the release date for the book is July 31, which true fans will recognise as Harry Potter's birthday.
We last left Harry and Ginny waving off their children on platform 9 and 3/4, so with the advent of this new story we might finally get some answers to crucial questions.
Did Harry succcumb to London's post-ironic hipsterdom, grow a beard and become a regular diner at the Cereal Cafe?
Is Hermione now the head of the WI? Or has she retired from her lecturing days and taken up a life of knitting and rocking chairs?
What house did the sorting hat put Albus Severus in?
We can't wait!
