If there's one really annoying thing about the iPhone (other than the crappy battery life and how easily the screen cracks...), it's the fact you can't listen to a YouTube playlist without having the app open.
But all that's about to change thanks to this super easy new hack, which means you can make playlists and stream videos from the site without having to keep it open in the background. YAAS for the sneaky person who discovered this.
To get the YouTube app to keep playing without having to keep it open:
1. Go to YouTube in your Safari browser NOT the app. It needs to be the web version, so if your iPhone asks you to open the page in the app, say no.
2. Line up the videos you want to play in the normal way you'd create a playlist, then hit 'home' to exit the page. This will make whatever song you're playing stop like normal.
3. THEN, open control centre by swiping up up from the home screen to access the Apple Control Centre.
4. Click play like you would with your normal music playlist, and your media playback should now be synced with what you just queued on YouTube.
HOORAY for streaming YouTube videos.
