Is there anything Selena Gomez can't do?

Already a world-famous actress, singer and dancer, now Selena is heading behind the scenes. The star is teaming up with the producer Aaron Kaplan, and the American TV channel Freeform, to develop a show that's been described as 'a Latina Empire series'.

Deadline reports that the series will focus on a 'low income Latino neighborhood and is told through the eyes of an 18-year-old girl destined for greatness.'

The series was inspired when Kaplan attended last year's Zimmer Children's Museum Disovery Award Dinner and heard Los Angeles high school senior Ana Cobarrubias speak. Cobarrius talked about overcoming difficult obstacles in her childhood, moving her audience enough to receive a standing ovation.

Kaplan and the Freeform programmer Karey Burke approached Gomez, who is now set to come on board as an executive producer. This is on top of  '13 Reasons Why', a Netflix series based on the Young Adult book Gomez is also producing.

Next up: directing?
