Ryan Reynolds took the opportunity, during his acceptance speech at last night's MTV Movie Awards, to gush about his wife Blake Lively (again).

Taking the stage, he proclaimed: 'I want to thank my wife Blake. Everything I do is to make her laugh. Especially the sex.'

It's sometimes a little bit sickening when celebrities endlessly proclaim their love for each other.

Especially when it's paired with over the top displays of affection.

There are certain couples, however, that can just get away with it.

Perhaps it's that they've mastered just the right mix of cute plus self-ridicule, so as to not turn stomachs too much.

Whatever the formula, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have definitely got it right.

So here are their greatest moments:

When Ryan went on Late Night With Seth Meyers to speak about becoming a father and, specifically, his wife's champion behaviour whilst giving birth, he expressed his gratitude for his wife's work producing a small human:

'A human being will exit your wife, she’s done enough, so just change the diapers and do all that stuff.’

This completely adorable statement:

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, on the Deadpool red carpet Ryan was asked about his idea of a romantic gesture:

'I’ve flown half way across the world to just see my wife for a day.'

Blake Lively went on Sway Calloway’s radio show and Ryan Reynolds called in pretending to be a member of the public with a question.

Ryan asked her to share her favourite swear word.

To which Blake went bright red and laughed: 'He's stitching me up!'

Before going on to explain that ever since it was uttered in Ryan's movie Blade: Trinity, her favourite swear word has been 'C*ck Juggling Thunder C**t'

Ryan told Entertainment Weekly about the first time he and Blake realised there were sparks between them. Apparently they'd been on a double date, her with another guy and he with another girl, but the real 'fireworks' were happening across the table between he and Blake.

Well done guys, you're completely adorable, keep it up.
