Jared Leto has committed some questionable acts on his quest to get into the role of The Joker in upcoming blockbuster Suicide Squad.

The actor, who is well known for his forays into 'method acting' - a technique by which an actor attempts to get into the psychology of the character they are playing, embodying their assumed role even when the cameras are not rolling.

Other actors famous for method acting include Daniel Day-Lewis, Christian Bale and Robert De Niro.

Reportedly Jared Leto, as part of his dive into the mind of The Joker, played a few pranks on fellow cast members that we can only assume didn't go down particularly well.

According to E!, before filming had begun, he'd already sent castmate Margot Robbie a live rat, bullets to Will Smith and a dead pig to the whole cast.

But now, we have some newer information.

Leto has, according to E!, confirmed that his passion for gift-giving continued throughout filming, with co-stars receiving such delights as used condoms and anal beads.

He told reporter Marc Malkin:

'I did a lot of things to create a dynamic to create an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there," the Oscar winner told me while promoting the movie at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. "The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries.'

How entirely unpleasant.
