In what is some of the most exciting news we’ve heard all year, Tina Fey has confirmed that the Mean Girls musical will be hitting Broadway sooner than expected, all thanks to Ellie Kemper’s pregnancy.

Speaking at the Tribeca Film Festival on Tuesday, Fey stated that the arrival of the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star’s baby has meant that work can begin early on the hotly-anticipated musical.

“We’re working on the musical adaptation, which we’re very excited about,” said Fey. “Thanks to Ellie Kemper’s pregnancy, we actually have this whole summer to focus on that.”

Filming of the popular Netflix show, which was created by Fey, has been pushed back a couple of months, leaving time to work on the Mean Girls script.

Anything that brings the Plastics back sooner is welcomed by us. That is so fetch!
