Last night, Kensington Palace played host to the sweetest encounter ever.

Little Prince George, bathed and be-dressing-gowned (with tiny, silk pyjamas peeping out from underneath), was permitted to stay up a crucial few minutes past his bedtime to greet President Obama and Michelle.

Dinner at the Palace was the conclusion to a hectic few days of important appointments for President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama - as, only hours before, Obama made a controversial interjection at the Brexit debate, covering whether or not Britain should leave the E.U.

Obama posed the idea that Britain would go 'to the back of the queue' for trade deals with the U.S. if it voted to leave the European Union.

Rounding off an exhausting day with a sweet conversation (on bended knee) with his tiny Royal Highness must have felt like a welcome relief.

Prince George, ever the entertainer, then treated the dinner party to a show of rockinghorse riding, aided by his mum the Duchess of Cambridge.

As the little Prince went off to bed, a night of informal talks continued among the dinner party guests.
