Piers Morgan had us face-palming to the Nth degree on ITV's 'Good Morning Britain' yesterday.

Whilst Piers and his co-host Susanna Reid were discussing the news that Janet Jackson had just welcomed her first baby, aged 50-years-old, Piers took it on himself to bash the singer for her age.

Susanna very astutely asked Piers what age he was when he had his last child, to which he replied 46-years-old, four years shy of Janet's age.

Whaa?

Instead of backtracking, apologising or understanding his hypocrisy, the shiny-faced 'journalist' went on to 'justify' his position, saying that it was different 'but I'm a man.'

Riiiiiight...

He went on to explain, 'Seeing old blokes on the school gates no-one seems to mind other than to go 'oh good old dad', whereas when women are, like, 70 [years-old] they seem to go, 'well why did granny come?'

'It's just a fact,' he surmised.

Oh, great, yes we understand now, everyone's a bit sexist so it's alright, that's the way things are, mothers and fathers have wildly different expectations thrust on them and that's just the way it is.

Thank goodness you explained it all to us Piers.

And we weren't the only ones face-palming, Twitter had a go too.

Thankfully for humanity Susanna was there.

Piers then turned the question back onto Susanna, asking her whether she would consider having a child at 50, to which she replied, 'Why not?

I wouldn't rule it out.'
