Scarlett Johansson may have denounced the very concept of monogamy, and been publicly dressed-down by husband Romain Dauraic for her handling of their ongoing divorce, but could she be restoring friendly relations with her formerly estranged partner?

Last night, the Ghost in the Shell star and French journalist were photographed together at the 53W53 Gallery in New York City, with Johansson looking comfortable and smiling happily with an arm around Dauraic.

It comes just a month after the 32-year-old actress filed for a divorce from her busband, with whom she has a three-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy.

The pair married in 2014, but Johansson released a statement regarding the 'dissolution of their marriage' in March.

'As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage,' she said.

'Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working mums, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you,' she added.

As a result, Dauraic hit back with his own statement, criticising the star for making their legal wrangling so public.

'It is indeed unfortunate, especially for our daughter, that Scarlett filed in court and made our personal differences so public.

'I would implore her to withdraw her action promptly and to go back, as uncomfortable as it might be, to the negotiating table,' he said.

Meanwhile, Johansson's comments on marriage being 'unnatural' came weeks before her divorce announcement, in which she told Playboy: 'I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it's a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing.

'I don't think it's natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it's work. It's a lot of work.'

Whether the couple reconcile or not, we hope they can do what's best for their family at this difficult time.
