Between charcoal lattes replacing our post-Easter detox, turmeric lattes taking the place of of our skincare routine, and our daily (ok thrice daily) Starbs skinny latte, it's safe to say our coffee addiction is getting a little out of control.

Don't even get us started on mushroom coffee.

Yes, the energy boost and excuse to spend almost £4 on a drink that really should cost 50p if we bothered to buy it from Tescos is satisfying, but the post-coffee shlump and, even worse, the dodgy teeth stains are so not what we signed up for.

Enter the magical new coffee trend - clear coffee.

Yes, you heard correctly. We're talking about coffee that looks like water.

Invented by the genius brothers David and Adam Nagy, aka owners of the clear coffee company CLR CFF (get it?), coffee that looks like water is officially a thing.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, the brothers revealed the thinking behind CLR CFF:

'We are heavy coffee drinkers. Like many other people we struggled with the teeth stains caused by it. There was nothing on the market that would suit our needs so we decided to create our own recipe.'

Obviously, although the coffee looks like water, it tastes like a potent cold brew that can be drunk cold on the go or mixed into cocktails.

Anyone for a clear espresso martini? So chic.

At the moment the brothers have been particularly coy about the process behind the clear coffee but confirmed that the formula uses freshly roasted arabica coffee beans and is free from preservatives, stabilisers and sweeteners.

It gets better. Think your skinny latte was a calorie-cutter? Well, CLR CFF contains just 8 calories per 200ml bottle.

And at £5.99 for two bottles, a hit of CLR CFF works out at roughly the same price as that daily Starbs.
