Proof that the US President's sexism really does know no bounds, Donald Trump has been criticised for making "creepy" remarks to French First Lady Brigitte Macron.

He and wife Melania met the French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife in Paris at the Hotel des Invalides yesterday where they were taken for a tour of the historical site. Brigitte and Donald shared what looked to be the world's most awkward handshake where the politician gripped her hands for longer than is traditional.

At the end of the tour, clearly unable to contain himself, Trump turned to Brigitte and said, "You're in such good shape." He looks at Emmanuel Macron, gesturing at his wife's body, "She's in such good physical shape. Beautiful."

Sadly, we can't see the reactions of the Macrons. Melania has her back to the cameras, so we're not privy to her response either, although presumably she's used to this level of unnecessary, sexist offal. The couples went onto dine at the Eiffel Tower.

Brigitte Macron is 64. Her husband is 39, a similar age gap to Trump and his wife Melania, 47.

The remarks have not been received well on Twitter, having been branded "inappropriate" and "creepy".
