From a galaxy far, far away (or Pinewood Studios) Prince William and Prince Harry became a pair of fearsome Stormtroopers for their anticipated cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The scene - which also starred Tom Hardy - sadly ended up on the cutting room floor, but it's now been released as a deleted scene in the DVD and Blu-ray version of the film.

The deleted moment sees John Boyega's Finn being recognised during an elevator ride by a sinister Stormtrooper played by Hardy, as he tries to access the enemy spaceship.

Of course it's not easy to identify William and Harry, as they're in full Stormtrooper attire complete with helmets - so perhaps look out for any extra tall Stormtroopers.

It had been reported at the time that the scene was cut from the movie because the princes were too tall - a Stormtrooper is usually 5ft 11in, but William is 6' 3", while Harry is 6' 1".

'Stormtroopers have to be exactly 5ft 11in,' a source told the The Mail on Sunday. 'At the time we shot it I think the feeling was that the scene would make the final movie.

'Everyone feels bad that William and Harry lost out on their big moment. However, the scene just didn't work for the final cut so it was left out.'

British star Boyega joked that he apologised to William and Harry after he found out the scene wasn't to be included, telling This Morning: 'I did personally apologise to them [the Princes] yesterday and said, 'Sorry you were cut out of the film.'

'And Will was like, "I probably just need to work more on the skills." I was like, "Maybe, bruv".'
