With the pandemic robbing annual Ibiza jetsetters of two years of the summer party season, 2023 is ramping up after the explosive return to Ibiza nightlife began last year. Expect a jam-packed schedule of incredible regular club nights, globally in-demand DJs and a whole host of new venues opening up too.

Like last year, the season starts at the end of April with super-clubs Hi, Pacha and Ushuaïa all ushering in the season with opening parties on the bank holiday last weekend of April (29- 1 May). The season will continue until closing parties in September, meaning five-ish months of partying opportunities.

If you're heading to the white isle this summer, we recommend finding yourself a decent base on the island which will be accessible to all of the major clubs and bars - most of which are dotted around the south of the island.

We love Can Sastre, an intimate Scandi-Ibizan style boutique hotel slap bang in the centre of the island, making it an ideal base. The seven-bedroom hotel is set in grounds filled with orange and lemon trees dotted with hammocks and sun loungers, plus a pool too cool off in. Can Sastre offers a relaxing break and a chance to experience the alternative - and burgeoning - slower side of Ibiza ensuring a chance to recharge and recuperate between parties celebrating the opening season of the home of dance music.

The same goes for restaurants and bars to serve either as a pre-drinks and dinner venue or a slight respite on an alternate night off from super clubs. The Ibiza food and drink scene is truly not one to be missed and offers a chance to sample another side of this wide-ranging island. In the beautifully historic Ibiza Town, the rooftop at The Standard hotel - which celebrates its first birthday this summer - is always worth a visit for both its wine and views. While Santa Eulalia, on the north eastern coast, is a beautiful and slightly quieter area of the island with enough going on to warrant a visit, yet is still close enough to reach the livelier areas of Ibiza Town and Playa D'en Bossa if heading somewhere afterwards. We recommend Word Of Mouth Café for dinner and drinks while listening to live music, K-oba for beachside drinks and sushi and the newly opened UM Beach House for relaxed day dining and sunbathing.
