It is hard to determine a normal weekend for me, my work takes me around the world and I have been to so many beautiful places. I have lived in London for many years and it never ceases to amaze me and every weekend I like to visit my old favourites and try to see something new.

Friday

My weekend starts as I put my hand out to flag a taxi on the Avenue Montaigne to take me to the Garde du Nord. Directly from the Eurostar I meet with friends for dinner. My favourite restaurant is the Delaunay (55 Aldwych, London WC2B 4BB, 020 7499 8558, thedelaunay.com), where the hat check girl squeezes multiple hat boxes into her tiny cloakroom. If friends from abroad are in town we go dancing, if not, it’s gin on the sofa at home with an episode of Family Guy.

Saturday

On Saturday morning I can't resist popping into Marc Jacobs' Bookmarc (24-25 Mount Street
London, W1K 2RR, 02073991690, marcjacobs.com), and every time I go I am surprised. I think, ‘How have I not come across this book before?’ Books are so important and should be cherished as they tell us so much about a person’s character; it is the same with the style of hat you choose.

I will be visiting the V&A's Wedding Dresses exhibition (Cromwell Rd, London SW7 2RL, 020 7942 2000, vam.ac.uk) this Saturday, I am excited to see all the fashion through the years. Whenever I can, I try to experience fashion in all its beautiful forms, so going to exhibitions like this keeps me inspired for my own creations.

When whizzing through London I always try to find time to visit Fortnum and Masons (181 Piccadilly, London W1A 1ER, 0845 300 1707, fortnumandmason.com) for their amazing window display.

Quite often on a Saturday I will have to pop into my atelier in Covent Garden to meet a client or to do some sketches for the new collection.

Sunday

I wake up on Sunday morning and have breakfast at home, spend maybe an hour or so looking through the papers.

If I get the time and can escape from the city I like to spend Sunday afternoon away from London. I love the afternoon tea at Coworth Park (Blacknest Rd, Ascot, Berkshire SL5 7SE, 01344 876600) and though not too far from the city the view of the still countryside is like no other.

I spend most of my weekend with friends and often host dinner on Sunday. I often have to fly on Monday mornings so relaxing at home is my favourite way to end a weekend and when the summer comes I like to watch the sun going down on my garden.
