I just got back from touring in Morocco, so the first thing I’ll do is meet up with my friend who is over from Jordan and go to the "mini Middle East " (aka Knightsbridge) to have good old- fashioned afternoon tea and lots of Ladurée macaroons from Harrods (87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL. Enq: 020 7730 1234, harrods.com). My friends know me as the macaroon expert, so I would suggest ordering the liqorice, salted caramel and pistachio, with a yummy iced mint tea on the side.

As I’m just off tour, I have the night off gigging. Generally I try my best to stay well clear of the clubs when I'm not playing but I would recommend Love & Liquor bar, (34 Kilburn High Road, London, NW6 5UA. Enq: 020 7625 7500, loveandliquor.co.uk) or Bar Music Hall (134 Curtain Road, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3AR. Enq: 020 7729 7216, barmusichall.co.uk) for some relaxed vibes and good music.

Then Saturday morning rolls around and I’ll start off with a jog around Kew Gardens, which is beautiful, especially on a sunny day. Then I’ll walk to the best Opi salon in London – Skin Lounge (40 Friars Stile Road, Richmond, TW10 6NQ. Enq: 020 7998 7805, skinlounge.co.uk) to get my nails done and catch up on gossip with the lovely girls who work there. Late afternoon I'll call some friends to meet up at BM Records (25 D'Arblay St London, W1F 8EJ, 020 7437 0478, bm-soho.com) to listen to the newest vinyls. I can spend hours in that place - the owners and staff are friendly and totally happy to play you as many records as you like. That beats iTunes any day! It’s a pretty decent way to spend an afternoon.

Sunday is generally dedicated solely to family and food. So in the morning I will head down to Edgeware Road to get ingredients for Sunday lunch, as there you find the best middle -Eastern supermarkets for Israeli and Arab products that you just can't get elsewhere. Then I’ll try -and fail - to resist the allure of Al Mustafa (like a whole souk in one store) (35 Edgware Road, London, W2 2HR, Enq: 020 7402 7707) It has beautiful abayas (robes), sweet smelling oils, blinged out tea sets, and gold, gold and more gold. I always end up buying something!

On the way home I’ll pop into KJ West One (26 New Cavendish Street, London, W1G 8TY. Enq: 020 7486 8262, kjwestone.co.uk), in Marylebone to check out the newest high fi products. Seva the owner is always happy to give exclusive demonstrations of the newest speakers in one of their private listening rooms.

After lunch the family and I will go to Ozer restaurant (5 Langham Place, London, W1B 3DG. Enq: 020 7323 0505, ozerrestaurant.com) for mint tea and baklava. Here we’ll discuss the past week and say a prayer that God will bless the week to come and give thanks for all our current blessings!
