Easter Carnival and Film Hop at the Book Club

ELLE favourites the Book Club and Experience Cinema are teaming up to create an epic three-day Easter extravaganza. Classics are covered with a sing-along to Grease (starting on Friday 29th), Saturday 30th sees a dance-along to Dirty Dancing (anyone who brings a watermelon gets a free cocktail…), and they’ll be showing Purple Rain on Sunday 31st. All of the screenings are non-seated and you’ll be positively encouraged to limber up as the team from dance and fitness studio Frame will be there to teach you the moves (as if you don’t know ‘the lift’…). The party isn’t over when the films are finished either, as there’ll be a 70s and 80s silent disco, cocktails will be flowing and plenty of street food on offer for refueling.

Excited about the four-day weekend ? This one would be great way to kick start the proceedings a little early. Gin favourites Tanqueray are set to open a one- off pop-up shop decked out like a re-imagined 19th century gin palace on Covent Garden’s Floral Street. There’ll be live acoustic music and a range of specially created cocktails shaken by some serious talent in the form of Erik Lorincz, head bartender at the Savoy, Tristan Stephenson, co-owner of Purl and Worship Street Whistling Shop and Diego Cabrera, head bartender of Madrid’s Le Cabrera. Tom Nichol (Tanqueray’s master distiller) will also be on hand running gin- tasting sessions.
