Plush velvet sofas, gourmet snacks and a world of international films to discover, there has never been a better time to explore London’s most luxurious and alternative cinemas.

From Ma7 17 indoor cinemas were allowed to reopen in England, Scotland and Wales and from May 17 in Northern Ireland from May 24, meaning we could finally book tickets to see the latest film offerings and swap our Netflix bingewatching of Bridget Jones for the 33rd time for long-awaited blockbusters.

If you’re looking for some escapism as lockdown restrictions lift (and boy, do we need it), indulge in an immersive 3D screening at the Odeon BFI IMAX. Or if you're in need of some TLC, sink into the snug seats at The Gate, located in one of the capital’s most romantic neighbourhoods. For a quirky experience, head to TT Liquor where their cocktail connoisseurs whip up a creation inspired by the film on show or give back to society at The Lexi, where 100% of their profits go to charity.

Whether you’re planning a romantic surprise for someone or treating yourself to a screening of the next Oscar-tipped film (#selflovematters), our list has got you covered.
