After studying French cookery at the Sorbonne, and taking his skills back to the legendary Kikunoi in Kyoto, Murata is in high demand. The menu at Chrysan has been expertly put together by his protégé Daisuke Hayashi, and is set to feature a new style of Japanese cuisine. Beard to Tail
The oh-so-cool Beard to Tail is turning its temporary pop-up restaurant into permanent residency, much to the delight of its regulars. As its the brainchild of the team behind favourite ELLE London speakeasy, Callooh Callay, you can expect plenty of experimental cocktails, with a bit of a focus on whiskey. Dan Thrippleton, formerly of Hix Soho, is an expert in the 'beard to tail' style of cooking (which basically boils down to using all parts of the animal), so its no surprise that the menu is meat, meat and more meat. Think spiced steak tartare, pigs trotters and pork loin and pulled beef featherblade with grilled flatbread. Vegetarians look away now...

With its long medieval banqueting tables and views over the Tower of London, Perkin Reveller is somewhere that shouldnt be left off your London to-do list, visitor or not. Taking its name from a character in Chaucers Cooks Tale, the restaurant will feature only British produce, from English smoked kippers in the morning and afternoon teas (complete with once-again-trendy Scotch eggs), to slow-cooked lamb to feast on in the evening. You can wash it all down with real ales in traditional stoneware jugs or a more heady Alchemist gin fizz. Either way it's dining fit for a king.

Death by Burrito
Those in the know about the brilliant Rebel Dining Society are going to fall in love with their latest venture Death by Burrito. In fact, anyone would fall in love with Death by Burrito even for its name alone. Not that that thats all its got going for it. Located in the super-cool Catch bar, its a contemporary Mexican grill, with a bit of a street food-style menu, laden with (you guessed it) every type of filling you could dream of in a flour tortilla, plus some particularly delicious Baja fish tacos. Their exclusive cocktail-list comes courtesy of Ryan Chetiyawardana, formerly of the super-popular Purl bar, and features a tequila-only menu. Its only open Wednesday to Saturday and seats just 30, so book early, and youll feel like youve been transported to Latin America, without leaving the confines of E2...

House of Wolf
Theres a seemingly endless array of experimental new restaurants in London right now, but House of Wolf is one that really caught our eye. Housed in a former music hall (the listed building really is quite beautiful), its been turned into a wonderful Victorian-style hangout. Theres an apothecary-style bar, with gas lamps and a traditional list of Victorian-inspired cocktails on the menu and entertainment in the form of cabaret and literary salons. Food-wise, therell be a different chef in residence each month, thanks to Alexa Perrin, the founder of the Experimental Food Society, and you can even hire out the Parlour for private dining. Needless to say, were itching to try it out.
