Brockley Market
Over in Lewisham, Brockley Market is like a cooler, mini version of Borough. Open on Saturday mornings, they certainly draw the crowds with their huge variety of artisanal fare, that fully supports local farmers and traders. A rejuvenating smoothie from Horse Powered is the perfect way to start the day. It's part of the local art collective Utrophia, and is made using solar-powered blenders on their cycle-pulled cart. Veggies can rejoice at Mike + Ollies stall, who sell wraps stuffed full of foraged and locally sourced ingredients, while for meat-eaters, Mother Flipper are well-known on the burger scene. Either way, you cant leave the market without trying a sourdough doughnut from The London Particular. Utterly delicious.

Maltby Street
While we love good old Borough Market, weekends there are tending to get a teeny bit overcrowded. Which is why we wont be joining the two-hour queues for a chorizo sandwich and will be heading round the corner to the seriously brilliant Maltby Street instead. Ok, so its not a market, as such, but tucked away under the railway arches, just off Maltby and Druid Street, its a collection of some of the capitals finest gastromonic delights, thats been growing steadily over the past two summers. Once youve sauntered past the delicious smelling sourdough loafs at St.Johns Bakery, we guarantee youll be as hooked as we are.

RedMarket
What we really love about East London, is how it likes to shake things up a bit - and theres really no better example of this than the brilliant RedMarket in Old Street. Only open at night, in true East London style it only popped up a few weeks ago and will only be on until September 2nd (so get in there quick). Throughout the week, theyre open until 11pm and are filled with plenty of food stalls tempting you with their artisan wares and a sociable communal outdoor dining room. Finally - an answer to our late-night eating woes.

Brixton Indoor Market
Built in the 1930s and formerly known as the Granville Arcade, Brixton Village indoor market has seen a total transformation over the past couple of years and has now firmly put itself on the map as one of the best foodie destinations in London. For deliciously thin and crispy pizza, theres Agile Rabbit (24 Brixton Village Market) and the wonderful French & Grace run by none other than the founders of the Salad Club supperclub fame (19 Brixton Village Market). There are some of the best burgers in town, thanks to 35-day aged Yorkshire Ginger Pig chuck steak at Honest Burgers (12 Brixton Village Market), and for a bit of a taste of the Orient, weve fallen a little bit in love with Mama Lan and her incredible Beijing street food (18 Brixton Village Market). Its making us hungry just thinking about it...
Address: Brixton Village Market, Coldharbour Lane SW9 8PR
Opening times: Mon - Wed: 9.30am - 6pm, Thu - Sat: 9.30am - 10pm, Sun: 9am - 6pm
Greenwich Market
The introduction of the nippy clipper boats that chug up and down the Thames, have put Greenwich firmly on our radar for top places for a lazy weekend in the capital. Youll probably find us hopping on the boat after a wander around the Tate Modern and cruising to Greenwich for lunch. The boat stops right at the market, which has been going since 1837, and has plenty of stalls guaranteed to make your mouth water. From La-Nian, selling fresh, hand-made noodles and dim sum, to Maison Crepes (traditional French fare), to Son of Pampas South American steaks. Youll not be stuck for somewhere to tuck in, either the 74 acres of Greenwich Park and its sweeping views of the city provide the perfect place to settle in with a picnic.
Address: Greenwich Market, Greenwich, SE10 9HY
Opening times: Tuesday Sunday; 10am 5.30pm
