The Delano

In a city where the hotels have to be seen to have it all, there aren't too many places that have more than The Delano. From its own private beach, to its handful of ultra-chic bars and rooftop spa, it exudes glamour in a subtle and understated way. Bedrooms are beyond chic, and the soothing white colour scheme is carried from the outdoor/indoor living space right through to the reception and rooms, while the Dali artwork and Eames furniture further cement its world-renowned design credentials.

The Viceroy Miami

It would be fair to say that space in Miami is at something of a premium, which means the 10 acres that the Viceroy commands (two acres of which are devoted entirely to an outdoor living room with a 300-ft long pool) speak volumes about the luxury you can expect from it. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the urban resort (of which J-Lo is a huge fan) has Miami style stamped all over it from the luxurious clash of fabrics, to the late-night lounges, rooftop pool and club. A place where dancing till dawn comes as standard.

The Tides South Beach

While it might not look quite as chic as its counterparts from the outside, The Tides South Beach is certainly one of the top contenders for the most stylish place to stay in Miami. Its recent revamp hints at its illustrious past, while taking it right into the future with cutting-edge design. Throw in a seafront location opening out onto jaw-dropping ocean views and it's easy to see why it's a popular choice with the likes of Cameron Diaz, Nicole Richie and Britney Spears. They’ve also taken service to new heights by offering you your very own personal assistant – not least to give you tip-offs for the hottest parties in town...

The Catalina

Located on the infamous Collins Avenue, The Catalina is a hip party hotel that, slightly unusually, comes without the exorbitant price tag. Rooms swing from teeny-tiny party crash pads to rangey suites that come with their own complimentary bottles of vodka (well, it is Miami after all). And if you’re all partied out, then a place by the rooftop pool or on one of the complimentary loungers on Miami’s infamous beach awaits...

The Raleigh

Having recently hosted some of the coolest parties at this year’s Art Basel Miami, The Raleigh proved it still has the party credentials of its glamorous 40s heyday. If you fancy a little old-school grandeur, then it's certainly the place to stay in Miami, with its vintage lamps, original tiled bathrooms and serious head count of celebrities. However, it’s the pool that really has to be seen to be believed – with its impressive Art Deco curves, cascading waterfall, plenty of white cabanas for stretching out on and an army of staff floating around with cold, scented towels and cocktails. All very glamorous indeed, in other words.
