Whether it’s at an ultra-luxury villa in Thailand or a sleek design hotel in Beirut, the views from our pick of the best hotels with infinity pools go on… forever.

Sri Panwa, Phuket

Sri Panwa isn’t so much a hotel as a series of infinity pools with luxury villas attached. And If the price tag means it’s probably one to file away in the cabinet marked ‘honeymoons only’, there are few more glam ways to kick-start a life of marital bliss than sitting in your own, private pool and watching the boats move slowly between the karst islands that dot the Malacca Strait and round Cape Panwa.

Coco Palm Bodu Hithi, Maldives

This Indian Ocean sybarites’ sanctuary is a 40-minute speedboat ride from Male on the private island of Bodu Hithi. Water-wise, it’s all about the private plunge pools of the higher end villas – where you can slip in and gaze out at the thousands upon thousands of miles of Indian Ocean. Trisara, Phuket

The second of our Thailand collection to make the cut for the best hotels with infinity pools, Trisara is, if anything, even more glam than Sri Panwa. Le Gray, Beirut

There are lots of beautiful touches at Campbell Gray’s Beirut master class in hotel design – from the spiralling atrium and the rusty Levantine hues throughout, to the fabulous art collection and the smattering of well-chosen design pieces. But from the point of view of the frazzled sightseer returning after a long day’s pounding the streets or the hung-over partier suffering from the night before, none are going to be quite as welcome as the sixth-floor rooftop pool (which comes, naturally, with stunning views out over the city).

The Grace, Santorini

We couldn’t exactly have a list of top hotel infinity pools without including some gorgeous Greek retreat or other, could we? And, perched up on its caldera cliff edge, the views from the pool at The Grace are almost otherworldly, with only a black volcanic island or two (and the odd white boat) breaking up the perfect blue of sea and sky.
