Secondcity was born and raised in Chicago until the age of 12 and has lived in the UK since his teens. Over the past twelve months the DJ has been championed by the likes of Pete Tong, Skream and Disclosure. His No.1 hit ‘I Wanna Feel’ was arguably this year’s first summer anthem.

With one foot in the charts and his heart in the underground Secondcity’s shows for Defected at Booom, Radio 1, and Ushuaia in Ibiza have made him one of this summer’s most popular island draws.

Cristoph - On the Inside

This is just one of those tunes that I can play all the way through and want to listen to it straight again after. When the bass line drops it’s just amazing.

Tigerskin - Lied

This is  real feel-good house, the melody really carries this track through with warm piano and choppy funk synths. It’s a ‘dance all night until 6 am on a beach in Ibiza’ kind of track that you want to hear over and over again.

Technasia - Heart of Flesh

Groovy tech-house, old school vocal hook, real rolling bass, synth stabs and big build pads – this is a massive club track.

Nic Fanciulli - Movin' On

The percussion in this is wicked. It really carries the track along so well with melodic pads and organ-sounding bass.

Dusky - Inta

Such a massive new Dusky track: real elements of old jungle with the Reece bass that comes in, piano stabs along with choppy hooky vocals. It all feels so old school but in a really good way.

Dale Howard - Break

Wicked bassline on this one, it’s always a tune that gets a great reactions. Drums carry this track out along with choppy vocals too.

Paul C & Paolo Martini - Spunk

This track is very simple but it proves less really is more. It’s a real dance floor mover from the vocal cuts and percussion to the rolling bass throughout the track.

DJ Raid, DJ Fronter - The Sun

I found this track really randomly and love playing it out. It’s quite underground and very techy but that’s what’s great about it, as everyone asks what it is. It builds nicely all the way through, brilliant track.

J.Cub Ft Sarah Story - Give You My Love (Cristoph remix)

Another amazing remix from Cristoph. There’s a really good vibe on this one and when the melody kicks in half way through and then drops in again with the bass – it’s a real hands-in-the-air moment.

Guti - Option One

The simplicity of this track is great; bass line and percussion mixed with vocal cuts just carries this track so well.

Secondcity returns to Defected In The House Ibiza at Booom Ibiza on 23 September.

Secondcity feat Ali Love’s ‘What Can I Do’ is released 26 October on Ministry of Sound.
