1. Le Guanahani, St Barths

Kate likes her holidays, and where better to while away a few sunny hours than in beautiful St Barts? The tiny, eight square mile Caribbean island has always been a celebrity magnet thanks to its 22 fantastic beaches, amazing designer shopping, 100-odd restaurants and exceedingly laid-back chic vibe. A regular visitor to the island, Kate has been spotted at the gorgeously relaxed boutique Guanahani Hotel & Spa.

Having recently been refurbished, the sophisticated, yet low key hotel is now even more luxurious with a glorious Clarins Spa and gourmet restaurant. Its gorgeous gingerbread pastel cottages have a true, cosy Caribbean feel with all the deluxe touches you’d expect, from the gorgeous sea views to the flat screen TV.

And because St Barts is in the French West Indies, the hotel’s Indigo beachside restaurant has a tasty Francophile menu too… Wonder if Kate tried the lethal Planteur rum punch cocktails served in goldfish bowls?!

Le Guanahani, Grand cul de sac, T Barthelemy, 97133, Saint Barthélemy, 00 590 276660, leguanahani.com. Doubles from £318 (B&B).

2. Roosevelt Hotel, West Hollywood

The Roosevelt is one of those iconic Hollywood hotels. Everyone who is anyone stayed, from Marilyn Monroe,  who lived here a while, to Charlize Theron, Leo Di Caprio and, of course, Kate. If only walls could talk! Just across the road from the Chinese Grauman theatre, on the walk of Fame, it’s perfectly located for all things Hollywood.

Rooms have an edgy masculine style with dark grey carpets, sexy flat screen TV, Ipod docking station, cosy mocha velour sofas and rock’n’roll vintage prints. For some real Hollywood glamour, join the party poolside at the Tropicana Bar, or try the 24hour 25 Degrees restaurant known for the ‘best LA burger’. For drinks it has to be the ‘Spare Room’ speakeasy upstairs, and for a late night, there’s always Teddy’s nightclub, a legend in itself.

3. The Clarence, Dublin

This Dublin institution, set in the heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar district, is as famous for its Octagonal bar as for its ties to rock legend Bono, who bought the hotel in 1992 with The Edge. Although it’s no longer U2’s home- from -home, its glitzy reputation is alive and well. And, with guests like Kate Moss, John Travolta, Jack Nicholson, Mira Sorvino, Tina Turner and Quentin Tarantino it’s hardly surprising.

Dating back to 1852 you could say it’s one of Dublin’s ‘grande dames’ and its arts & crafts décor remains true to its origins. Comfortable rooms, Egyptian linens, a spa and a very central location, make it an ideal stopover for those in town to party like Kate or Robbie Williams.

Chiva Som, Hua Hin, Thailand

Hua Hin sits on the Gulf of Siam and has gained a reputation as 'the' beach resort for wealthy Thais thanks to its royal summer palace. It attracts the 'crème de la crème' of Thailand but also the international crowd, from the Beckhams to Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling.

Ms Moss’ resort of choice is the world famous Chiva Som Spa, renowned for its alternative health therapies, eastern and western techniques and seen as the ultimate beauty spot for some serious detoxing. Amidst the exotic orchids and jasmine, the atmosphere is unbelievably serene.

No phones or gadgets allowed, it’s all about switching off and healing. After an initial consultation on arrival, a bespoke wellness menu is created to match your needs, whether it’s getting your chakras realigned, boosting your energy levels or going for fantastic full body massages to unwind. On leaving Chiva Som you’ll feel as good as new…

Chiva-Som, 73/4 Petchkasem Road, Hua Hin, Prachuab Khirikhan 77110, Thailand, 00 (66) 3253-6536, chivasom.com . Doubles from around  £293 (including three spa cuisine meals daily and use of the water therapy suites and group classes).

The Caves, Jamaica

Part of the Island Outpost portfolio, this quirky cliff-top hideaway is ideal for celebs like Kate in search of privacy. Definitely different, the 13-room (thatched cottages) hotel oozes Jamaican spirit. There’s a saltwater pool, a hot tub and a tiny Aveda spa with a killer view over the gorgeous emerald sea, diving spots aplenty and two caves set up for romantic dining among the tea lights.

All about doing nothing, the Caves is a great place to kick back and relax, hang out at the bar and make the most of the local produce, from lobster to kingfish or curried conch.

The Caves, Lighthouse Road, West End, Negril, Jamaica, 00 1 876-957-0270, islandoutpost.com. Doubles from around £279 (all-inclusive).
