Friday

Friday usually means waking up a little later than usual, with a sore head, as Thursday is the big 'industry night' - when you find yourself at one of the latest new bar or restaurant openings. These are usually full of free drinks and bad influences, so to combat that, I head down to the Palm Court Brasserie, above (39 King Street, WC2E 8JS, 020 7240 2939) for their amazing roasted baby vegetable and quinoa superfood salad, sprinkled with gratifying goats cheese on there to blast away the cobwebs.

I'll then head to the office where I'll be thinking of silly things to say on Twitter, while responding to all the excited customers we find tweeting at us in anticipating of their weekend bookings at Joe’s Southern Kitchen & Bar (300 Kentish Town Road, NW5 2TG, 020 7485 7331) in Covent Garden or Kentish Town. We also like to recommend anywhere new  that we've been lucky enough to check out: it's our version of a Neighbourhood Watch.

Breddo's

Once things are ready for the weekend, I'll head down to the Cocktail Baby Bar above Joe's in Covent Garden  (joessouthernkitchen.co.uk, 34 King Street, WC2E 8JD, 020 7240 4008) where I'll always bump into someone I know and find out their plans, usually promising to ‘ring them later. What actually happens is that I end up getting a call from a foodie friend in East London, and lured over to the incredibly exciting Street Feast (Hartwell Street, Dalston, E8 3DU).

Le Bun

Reopened this month until 24/25 September, in Dalston Yard, not only is it my favourite nocturnal playground, I love the fact that you’re not limited to one cuisine, with dozens of different traders, all offering unique fusions of dishes. Particular favourites at Street Feast include Breddo's,  and Le Bun, above.

Saturday

Brunch has to be at the Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings (42 Northampton Road, EC1R 0HU, 0203 174 1156), as their endless Bloody Marys, along with ambrosial drop scones with clotted cream, berries and honey, are the perfect mix of right and wrong.

Once it's impossible to drink any more, we'll cross our fingers for good weather and walk over to The Draper's Arms, above (44 Barnsbury St, N1 1ER, 020 7619 0348), where the landlord, Nick Gibson, greets with the most hospitable smile in the industry. It's impossible to get a table for Sunday lunch, so we make the most of their impeccable food for dinner instead.

Sunday

Sunday is the new Saturday - so it's important to retox in the day - usually with loved ones along the South Bank. I just love it down there, it's vibrant - a hubbub of excited tourists  - and the best place to be if parks in the sun aren't your thing. We'll usually meander around the Tate (Bankside, SE1 9TG, 020 7887 8888) watch some street performers, then grab a seat outside (weather permitting) at the Founder's Arms pub, above (52 Hopton Street, Bankside, SE1 9JH, 020 7928 1899), which is right by the river, opposite St Paul's Cathedral (, EC4M 8AD, 020 7246 8350), with views of both old and new London and delicious roast chicken.

Nine times out of ten, after a few too many ales, we'll all end up in Sager and Wilde (193 Hackney Rd,  E2 8JL, 0208 127 7330), and there'll be a flurry of like-minded late-nighters in the there too : expect chefs, bartenders, managers and the occasional celebrity. When they call last orders, one of us will usually suggest we head over to Satan's Whiskers (343 Cambridge Heath Road,  E2 9RA, 020 7739 8362), for a nightcap or two.

Joe's Southern Kitchen's social butterfly Ronnie Joice can be found tweeting at @FriedChickenLDN  for Joe’s Covent Garden and their new sister venue, which launched in Kentish Town earlier this month.  The new Joe’s offers  hungry North Londoners its trademark fried chicken and belly-filling American dishes. Housed in former police cells, its new basement bar, JAILBIRD, serves heady cocktails and a range of ryes and whiskeys.
