1 Getting There

Forget lugging tents, wellies and five days' worth of  Wet Wipes on the train, the A-lister way to get to Glasto is by jet.  Addison Lee ( yes, really) had their very own Falcons and Cessnas (seating 4 - 8) to whisk you from London to Bristol, with a private car onwards to Pilton, in just 90 mins door- to- door.  If you didn't have the cool £612.50 pp required for that, then the next best thing was the luxury Addison Lee car, complete with wifi and in-car charging, so you could keep up with all the action en route. If you got  one for four of you,  it worked out at  just £46 each . We know what we will be booking next year.

2  The Pop-up Hotel

There are few things quite as grim as waking up with a hangover in a cramped, hot,  beer-soaked tent-ette - which is why we gave ourselves a break this year, checking into the brilliant Pop Up Hotel, which has individual glamping units with air beds, a pop-up spa and make up station, and even a pool. A pool!

From £1799 for five nights for two sharing a bell tent, B&B , to £10,000 for the Tenthouse Suite for eight guests ( a 2000 sq ft Mughal tent with four bedrooms and two bathrooms

3 Drinks

Overpriced, warm, and generally only found at the end of  a very long queue,  getting a drink at Glastonbury is hard work. Far better to bring your own. Ours came courtesy of Veuve Cliquot, no less - thanks guys !

4  Waterproofs

You know you’re going to get wet – so find yourself the coolest waterproof money can buy.  Donna, our accessories editor,  is modelling hers, a Hunter's  Women’s Original Oversize Cotton Canvas Parka  -  currently on sale at £210 (originally £420, so snap one up quick).

5 Juice

More practical than luxe – but essential all the same -  phone chargers!  Ok, so they have banks of them there – but who wants to leave the Pyramid stage to find a charging station just as you're about to grab a selfie with Kanye? So much easier to have a nifty one of these in your pocket.

Juice All Nighter,  above, £34.99 from Halfords stores, gives enough energy  for two smart phone charges,  iPhone one and a half charges and iPad Air over 40%.

Or The Dual USB  7800mAh Portable Power Bank with torch has enough juice  for three full  phone charges.  £9.97  from Appliances Direct
