Whilst we're all very grateful Airbnb now exists (what a lifesaver), you may feel a slight tinge of disappointment once you've set your eyes on the homes available for exchange on Third Home.
The luxury home exchange site allows you to stay in the most lavish locations around the world, plus, it won't cost you any moolah to rent. Say whaaaaat?
Instead of money, the site uses a virtual currency of keys. You can gain keys by exchanging your own home on the site, and depending on how luxurious it is, the more keys you get - makes sense.
Naturally, these homes (aka mansions) are incredible and allow you to jet set to locations including Hawaii, Iceland, California, the Caribbean. You name it, they have it.
To give you an idea of what a few keys can get you, 5-15 keys will allow you to rent your very own 20,000 square foot Mexico mansion, which boasts not only 13 bedrooms. But also includes Flor your personal cook, Gume the butler and Roberto your pool-man, who will serve you drinks whilst you bathe at your choice of any of the two pools and three Jacuzzi's.
However, before we start handing in our notice at work, there is one itty bitty catch. To join the club you have to own a second, third or fourth home, worth a minimal amount of £400,000.
Plus, "members' properties must be located in a desirable location with quality furnishings, appointments, and amenities" - ah, so we have a strong feeling our one bedroom flat in East London is not quite what they're looking for. But hey, a girl can dream.
