If you think about it, the Bahamas couldn't be a better travel destination: the flight from the East Coast is shockingly quick, the weather rarely falters below 70 degrees, and Bahamian food is everything your seafood dreams are made of.

What could possibly make this sunny archipelago even more enticing? Well, it turns out they also have a super rare natural phenomenon you don't want to miss: a pink sand beach. As in, there is an entire rose-colored beachfor you to explore, play in, and Instagram to your heart's content.

The Pink Sands Beach on Harbour Island comprises three stunning miles of pink-tinged sand and crystal clear water. Year-round, you'll find warm water temps and some of the area's best snorkeling—with the most colorful backdrop imaginable.

How exactly does the sand get its cotton candy hue? From microscopic animals with bright pink shells called Foraminifera. Granted, Instagram photos do make the sand look a little more pink than IRL — but it is still a pretty spectacular sight.
