ART: What’s Up
The tagline of this new Soho Revue exhibition says it all: ‘Showcasing 50 of the most exciting contemporary international artists’. OK, not quite it ALL – we’ll add that that along with stunning pieces by rising stars such as Jonas Wood, Mark Flood and Sterling Ruby, here you’ll find all that’s bleeding-edge in painting, photography, sculpture and video art. AKA: the art world’s next big things. Take note of the names now, drop them at will for evermore.
EXHIBITION: Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear
The V&A’s new exhibition is a load of pants. In a really, really good way. Because this is a look at how slinky smalls have shaped fashion – not to mention our bodies (why thank you, Spanx) – over the centuries. Pieces on show range from bloomers belonging to Queen Victoria’s mother right through to blush-inducing bodices by Agent Provocateur and David Beckham’s boxers. Be warned: you’ll never see your knicker drawer in the same way again.
From 16 April; £12 V&A, Cromwell Road, London SW7 2RL
