Something For The Weekend 9-11 September
Reasons why staying in just isn't an option
FOOD: The Slider Decider
We like miniature food: it lets us pretend we're a giant. And the best of all the miniature foods is surely the slider. Fun-sized burgers that we can eat five of guilt-free? Yes, please. That's why we're heading to Broadgate Circle this Saturday, where 17 chefs are going head-to-head to try to tempt us with their gourmet brioche-based creations. Representatives from the likes of Ember Yard, Tom's Kitchen and Fifteen will be fighting it out to be named Champion Slider, while drinks will be flowing from Botanist and Long Arm Brewing Co. All this, plus the chance to pretend you're a giant. Yes.

EXHIBITION: Say You Want a Revolution?
There are two things it's impossible not to do when visiting the V&A's new blockbuster exhibition, Say You Want a Revolution?: 1. Sing the name of it in your best John Lennon voice. And 2. Wish you were around in the 1960s, because things were just cooler. There is evidence for point two aplenty at this huge celebration of the decade, not least performance footage from The Who, Sam Cooke and Jimi Hendrix, snapshots of Woodstock festival, pop-art pieces, psychedelic posters and era-defining fashion. Nostalgia overload guaranteed – who cares if you weren't actually there first time round?
10 Sept-27 Feb; £16
V&A, Cromwell Rd, SW7 2RL
FESTIVAL: OnBlackheath
Oh, you thought festival season was over, didn't you now? Well you can pull those Hunters right back out from that cupboard where you stashed them, because there's once last field-based fiesta to be had. And it's a good 'un, too. OnBlackheath sees Primal Scream, Hot Chip, Roisin Murphy, Belle & Sebastian, James, Rosie Lowe and Craig Charles take to the stage, while top chef Theo Randall serves up a banquet and street food comes from the likes of Anna Mae's Mac n Cheese, Dough Bros and Le Bun. You can find all this and more… er… on Blackheath. We see what they did there now.

ART: RA Lates – A Hockney Happening
We've got a great David Hockney costume we've been dying to show off, and we're sure you have too. Well it's our time to shine, people! Because on Saturday, the RA is celebrating this coolest of painters by getting artists, performers and DJs to recreate different Hockney eras over three floors (if anyone needs us, we'll be at the LA swimming pools). There'll also be film screenings, a Polaroid photo studio, speed portrait dating, cocktails and – wait for it – a costume competition for the most convincing Hockney ensemble. We KNEW that flat cap/round spectacle combo would come in handy one day.

NIGHTLIFE: Feelings Summer Send-Off
This is going to be a big one. How do we know? Well, we've got good FEELINGS – as in, the the party-starting crew famous for curating super-cool DJ line-ups around London. This weekend they're taking over not one, but two venues for not one, but two very worthy purposes. Venue 1 is Shoreditch's Red Market, where a huge daytime party will mark the launch of the Feelings Worldwide record label with Balearic beats, world music and disco. Then it's straight off to venue 2, Hackney's Oval Space, to bid summer goodbye with a beast of an all-night party featuring Joe Claussell, Mike Dunn and the Menendez Brothers. Told you: BIG.
