So long, Stockholm; take a hike, Helsinki. Because this week London Design Festival is back
to prove that the world capital of design is right here, no matter what those monochrome-loving Scandis may say. Filling the city's museums, event spaces, streets and shop windows with all things ergonomic, LDF highlights include a monumental soft-toy building-block castle by Camille Walala at Exchange Square; Flynn Talbot's coloured light experience 'Reflection Room' at the V&A; and a tour of all things arts and crafts along the Brixton Design Trail. One thing's for sure: a trip to Ikea is off the agenda.

Simple fashion mathematics: Alexander McQueen x Shaun Leane, Rick Owens x Michèle Lamy, Nick Knight x Daphne Guinness = one unmissable exhibition. Just opened at Fashion Space Gallery, Fashion Together looks at how iconic collaborations have shaped style as we know it via sketches, notes, films, photographic prints and – oh yes! – clothes. You can also expect Viktor & Rolf, Inez & Vinoodh, Thom Browne and Stephen Jones… Duos that are dynamic AND de rigueur, then.
Until 13 Jan 2018
Fashion Space Gallery, London College of Fashion, 20 John Prince's Street, W1G 0BJ
