Yes, it's that time of year again when we celebrate all things sparkly, whizzy and explodey, and London does it better than anywhere else. Here's where to head for a better quality of 'oooh, ahh':
NORTH: Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival promises a tuneful display curated by DJ Yoda, plus (deep breath) laser show, parade of burning floats, drummers, dancers, fire eaters, giant puppets and animatronics. Blimey. 3-4 Nov, £11.
EAST: This year's free fireworks shindig in Victoria Park is going to be out of this world. Mainly because the theme is sci-fi, so alien costumes, Dalek impressions and antennae fashioned from tinfoil will be de rigueur. Plus there's a huge fireworks display, street food and booze. 5 Nov, free.
SOUTH: Blackheath Fireworks treats 100,000 people to big bangs, a funfair and food and drinks stalls – and all for free. BOOM. 4 Nov, free.
WEST: Bonfire Night at the Roof Gardens is an altogether classier affair above Kensington High Street, with a gourmet BBQ, cocktails DJ sets – and oh yes, a helluva lot of fireworks. 4 Nov, £20.
