There are Christmas parties. There are BIG Christmas parties. And then there are Christmas parties thrown in east London's coolest alt club, by east London's coolest day festival, and featuring a DAVID BOWIE TRIBUTE. Can you guess which one this is? That's right: this Friday, Moth Club is teaming up with Field Day and ch-ch-ch-changing into a huge celebration of the Starman himself. Not only will there be a live set by tribute act Absolute Bowie, but there'll be plenty more sound and vision thanks to Eat Your Own Ears DJs, plus a pub quiz and, we'd wager, a helluva lot of spandex. Go along and be heroes, just for one night.

Who says dance music is a boys' club? Definitely not The Black Madonna, aka Marea Stamper, aka Mixmag's DJ of the Year, aka our new hero. She's ruled 2017 with a sold-out residency at XOYO, a humdinger of a closing set at Sonar, and now this – a huge day-to-night show at legendary venue York Hall. And what a party is in prospect, filling London's biggest sprung-oak dance floor with all manner of dancers and performers – not the mention the sounds spun by the lady herself. Do we still believe? You're goddamn right we do.
16 Dec; £30
The Black Madonna, York Hall, 5-15 Old Ford Road, London, E2 9PJ
You might think that Christmas mightn't be the best time to be vegan, what with turkey famously containing meat and all. But this shindig is proving you WRONG. Because who needs dry old chuck when you could be feasting on chuna burgers by Vega Mama and jackfruit wings from Biff's Jack Shack? You'll find these plus much more when the Vegan Christmas Night Market hits Camden this Friday. Expect vegan cakes and mince pies, vegan doughnuts, cheese, meringues, chocolates – and, importantly, vegan mulled wine and even vegan Baileys. Plus everyone's going to be in a lovely Christmassy mood… definitely no beef. (Sorry.)
