And Lumiere London said, 'Let there be light.' And there was light – in all manner of splendidly weird and wonderful forms, all over this fair city. For capital's biggest festival of light has returned to dazzle us (literally) once again. Ping! Westminster Abbey is transformed into a swirling psychedelic dreamscape. Ping! King's Cross gets its very own Aurora Borealis. Ping! You can play on interactive glowing seesaws on South Molton Street. And that's just for starters – check out the full programme of events here. You'll find it very illuminating, we're sure.

Right, we're done with the whole 'quiet January' thing now: it's time to get the 2018 show on the road. And here to help with that is Fabric, which is setting out its stall for the new year with the launch of Forms this Friday. Promising to widen the scope of the (already pretty darned awesome) music policy, the new night is enlisting the most influential of spinners from right across the house music spectrum. As a kick off? It's only modern-day club icon and notorious party starter Skream, who'll be putting Fabric's world-renowned sound systems well and truly through their paces. Come on then, 2018: LET'S DO THIS.
