New research reveals the UK's most beautiful destinations for a proposal

Getting engaged is one of the most memorable milestones of your life, apart from the big day, of course. Sykes Holiday Cottages carried out a study on 2,000 couples to find out where the top romantic spots to get engaged in the UK are. The Lake District stealing the top position with 17 per cent of the vote, followed by Cornwall in second place with 8.3 per cent, the the Scottish Highlands with seven per cent.
