Back in 2002, Reese Witherspoon and Patrick Dempsey staged one of romantic comedy's greatest engagement scenes (nay, all of film's engagement scenes) in Sweet Home Alabama. You remember it: Witherspoon's Melanie Smooter was proposed to in New York City's Tiffany & Co., opened after hours exclusively for her by Dempsey's big city dream boy Andrew Hennings. Not only did she get proposed to by tux-clad McDreamy, he also told her to "pick one." As in, pick any ring in Tiffany's.

The moment was so impactful that Wednesday, Witherspoon got to relive it when she visited the store in New York City, no doubt because all the store's employees were like "we can't NOT do this?". She then 'grammed the scene for our viewing pleasure:

And here's the original scene for comparison:

Sure, Patrick Dempsey is very noticeably and unfortunately missing from the redux, but her reaction is still magic. And kind of amazing that she was again wearing a little black dress, black heels, and side-swept bangs, thirteen years later?
