In what may be the most bad-ass meet-cute of all time, two stunt doubles who worked together on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road fell in love and got married.

Dayna and Dane, who even have matching names they're so adorable, met in the Namibian desert in 2012, while working on Mad Max: Fury Road. Dayna was working as a stunt double for Charlize Theron/Furiosa, while Dane was covering Tom Hardy as Max. You know, the mad one.

Their story is pretty sweet, with Dane telling Stuff NZ: 'I saw Dayna straight away – she was the only girl from New Zealand and she stood out like a sore thumb. I saw her bag with her name on it and my opening line was literally, "Hi. I see you're Dayna. I'm Dane." That was about it.'

Things then got a bit sexually tense during all the onscreen fighting, causing their love to blossom. 'So the two of us were doing this – dare I say – very S&M-type fight,' says Dane. 'It's a love/hate mixture between these characters. They're very close, there's chains, they're holding each other in very intimate positions, and the longer we were doing it the more we're kind of eyeing each other up.'

'It really was love at first sight. While we were punching each other we were falling for each other – quite rapidly.'

The couple tied the knot in March 2013, and now have a 14-month-old son named Ryder. They say that working in the same field plays a big role in the strength of their relationship. 'It helps to have somebody who understands what you're going through, especially the long hours,' says Dane.
