We never thought we'd come across a wedding that could compete with the last heir to a Russian oil fortune's wedding that we covered — but we have. Surprise, surprise: It was for another Russian oil tycoon's daughter and, after hearing about all the lavish details, we have to wonder if the two billionaires are competing with each other.
The bride, Madina Shokirova, said 'I do' to a man identified as Sador this past weekend at the Radisson Royal Congressional Park Hotel in Moscow with a reported 900 guests in attendance. Even though we don't know how much the wedding cost as a whole, reports say the bride's haute couture dress was made by British house Ralph & Russo and cost over half a million dollars alone. Hey, that's the price you pay for layers of organza petals, pearls, and Swarovski crystals.
Oh, and did you notice the cake? Yes, it was 10 feet tall and, yes, it was so heavy that several men to carry it into the reception. Celebrity cake maker and former boxer, Renat Agzamov, was the mastermind behind the over-the-top dessert.
Guests were basically treated to a full-fledged concert, as reports say the entertainment cost more than $400,000.
And in case you were wondering, yes, guests came decked out, too. Heavily beaded floor-length gowns ruled the party.
Naturally, it was a two-day affair. Day two was a more traditional ceremony for the couple, though we're sure it still cost more money than most people will see in their lifetime. Just saying.
