When you imagine getting married the first thing you think of is the dress, the hair and make-up and generally what you need to do to look the most beautiful version of you that's ever existed, right?

But when it comes to the actual big day, it's kind of everything else that takes the wedding admin into overdrive. We're talking wedding receptions.

No longer is Summer the most-hyped about wedding season with Autumn weddings becoming more and more popular. We always thought 'fallen leaf brown' was a winning colour scheme...

2. Greenery

Pinterest search increase: +300%

One for the minimalist brides, it's finally time to replace OTT floral arrangements with simple greenery. Think fern leaf place settings, all green bouquets and outdoor grassy locations.

3. Dusty Rose

Pinterest search increase: +255%

The opposite of the minimalist greenery trend, 2017's second hottest wedding colour theme is all about super sweet 'millennial' pink everything. From the cake to the dress, it's time to think pink.

4. Official After Parties

Pinterest search increase: +35%

Not satisfied with a few speeches, a dodgy cover band and some champers, couples are now transforming their wedding reception into a VIP after party situation. While the grandparents are away, the adults will play.

5. Less Is More

Pinterest search increase: +100%

Gone are the ginormous wedding parties and polite guilt-driven bridesmaid allocations of old, because 2017 is the year for no f****s given wedding organisation. Opting for less guests, smaller venues and, in some cases, no bridesmaids at all (the horror!) this year's wedding is all about focussing on the bride and groom.
