Since Kate Middleton did her own make-up on her wedding day, it’s given the green light for brides on a budget to do the same. Make-up artist and ELLE favourite Daniel Sandler gives a few pointers for perfect, camera-ready skin.

DO apply loose powder down the T-Zone, chin, upper lip and jaw line to de-shine.

DO apply Face Primer under your base so that make-up stays put all day.

DO apply waterproof products such as eye pencils and mascara so your make eye won't run.

DON'T apply too much shimmer or highlighter onto cheekbones as it reflects a lot of light from the camera flash and can adds pounds to your face.

DON'T apply bright make-up colours on cheeks or lips if you’re being filmed in HD as the pigments will appear even brighter on film.

DON'T apply powder all over your face or it will kill that lovely dewy finish you’ve got from your Base.

DON'T apply bronzing products or make-up on any area that will come into contact with your dress.
