Reese Witherspoon becomes the global face of Avon

Last night Avon announced in New York that Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon is to become the brand's global ambassador. Though don't expect Reese to be knocking on any doors anytime soon. Reese's role as Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation will be to spearhead the brand's charity work, in particular focussing on breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief aid and be a spokeswoman for Avon's beauty products. Reese will also be involved in product development in the multi-year deal, plus star in Avon's future advertising campaigns. Reese said it was the fact that Avon is a "crusader for women's causes" that really persuaded her to join the iconic beauty brand. (So not the money then!) And that she was excited to "be joining in the great philanthropic work that is already underway."
