Charlotte Gainsbourg to star for Balenciaga's new scent

Charlotte Gainsbourg to front Nicolas Ghesquière's first fragrance.
The French actress and long time muse of Nicolas Ghesquière will collaborate with him on his first fragrance for Balenciaga, due to launch in February 2010.
The new, as yet unnamed scent will be produced by Coty who also have created fragrances for Sarah Jessica Parker and Kylie Minogue.
Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of marketing for Coty Prestige, revealed to WWD yesterday, 'It was less about who can we get to endorse it and was more about developing a fragrance around her and Nicolas’ thoughts'.
Gainsbourg is currently in L.A shooting the ad campaign for the scent, and will be the guest of honour at a party there this week to launch the fragrance.
