We don’t know about you but we’ve been feeling a certain sense of malaise on the high-street, nothing seems, well, just new. But, never fear, we’ve found some events to keep your fashion pecker up while we all await the delivery of the full autumn /winter collections

It’s all switcheroo over at Dover Street Market – the eclectic fashion emporium is set to close for three days to re-open on July 19 with new designers and displays. As well as Salvatore Ferragamo Creations as reported earlier this week, expect an exclusive selection of pieces from Hussein Chalayan’s autumn collection; a window taken over by punk artist Jamie Reid and, in the pipeline, an installation by artist Katherine Jebb using Christian Lacroix pieces plus a baroque area featuring John Galliano.

Meanwhile, Fashion In The Mirror – Self-Reflection in Fashion Photography exhibition launches at The Photographer’s Gallery in central London. From July 18 you can see rare behind the scenes images taken at fashion shoots from the 1950s to today. Featuring work from Mario Testino, Richard Avedon and Steven Meisel to name but a few, it’s a must see for all fashion and photography fans.

While over at Browns Focus, Mattijs van Bergen - the Dutch grown-up fashion collection where a serious Dries van Noten edge meets a playful Marni - is available for the first time outside of Holland. Over the next few weeks his collection will arrive in store, look out for sequin jackets and so-now slouchy trousers.
