This afternoon Burberry is set to launch its hotly anticipated new social networking site, Artofthetrench.com.
The site is a celebration of Burberry's iconic trench coat and features specially commissioned pictures taken by The Sartorialist himself, Scott Schuman, of style setters from London, Milan, New York, Paris, Berlin, Sao Paulo and Venice, all wearing the signature piece.
And that's not all - the site will also be interactive. Fashion-forward visitors will be able to submit their own photos for inclusion on the site, comment on their favourite posts and share them across Facebook and Twitter. Christopher Bailey, creative director of Burberry says, ' Everybody has a different story related to their coat or the first time they came into contact with one - I love the idea that people from all over the world can share those stories and images with each other and all the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry trench coat and the people who wear it.'
