Iconic shoe brand Charles Jourdan set to make its fashion comeback

It's not all doom and gloom in the recession hit fashion industry as much-loved shoe label Charles Jourdan returns this autumn.

Take a look closely at your vintage shoes and you probably own a couple of pairs of Charles Jourdan already, and now you'll have the chance to buy new designs from this iconic shoe brand as the new collection will be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week at the Premiere Classe exhibition.

Acquired by Groupe Royer in December 2008, Paris Hilton's family tried to revive the label in 2007. Rumour had it that her mother Kathy would design a new collection, but this never happened.

Now shoe designer Alexandra Neel, (ex Balenciaga and Celine) is designing the hotly anticipated new collection and will introduce a whole new generation to Charles Jourdan, one of the most popular shoe labels of the 1960s and 1970s.

While her designs are still under wraps, we're expecting beautiful shoes from Neel who says of her design process, 'I try to do something very different for stiletto addicts who are looking for something other than [the] usual'.
