LCF reveals its future fashion stars

By Emma Sells | Posted: Fri 29 Jan 2010

London College of Fashion is renowned for producing some of our best designers, so it's no surprise that the fashion crowd, along with a smattering of celebrities, were queing up to see what the latest MA graduates had to offer.

The MA 2010 show was held at the Victoria and Albert museum last night, and on hand to watch were Jodie Harsh, Paloma Faith, Jo Wood, Grayson Perry and Amber le Bon - as well as a host of industry insiders hoping to snap up the next big thing. In fact, rumour has it that Team ASOS were so impressed by what they saw that they've already set up appointments with some of the students.

With 19 students in the line-up the collections were of course incredibly varied. There were Madonna inspired disco leoatards, Storm Trooper helmets, Xanadu dresses and glittery body armour. But amongst the outlandish pieces we definitely spotted some items that we wouldn't mind absorbing into our wardrobes, thank you very much; Ya Fan Chang's tailored piece with delicate chains hidden in the seams; Nicole Murray's elegant 1940s-inspired fringed skirts and dresses; and Yeo Ok Kim's beautifully woven, shaded dresses and marble print jacket.

The Collection of the Year Award was presented to German designer Sven Hoppe for his menswear collection,, while womenswear designer Young Li Lee was given a special mention for her exquisite dresses (pictured) that were embellished with ribbon in sculptural shapes. Remember their names - you'll be coveting them in season's to come.
