NEWGEN sponsorship for S/S 2010 announced

London Fashion Week is just three months away but we already have a good idea of which names all eyes will be on, as this afternoon the British Fashion Council announced the winners of its NEWGEN sponsorship scheme.

Last years ones-to-watch, Henry Holland, Meadham Kirchoff and Peter Pilotto, will be joined on the catwalk schedule come September by Mary Katrantzou and Mark Fast. And showcasing their collections in sponsored presentations will be Danielle Scutt, Louise Gray, LP.BG and Sykes.

And NEWGEN will also be offering exhibition support to a handful of other designers, including Henry Holland-collaborator Atlanta Weller, avant-garde accessories designer Fred Butler, and knitwear designer Dominic Jones.

The NEWGEN scheme, which is sponsored by Topshop, has been running for 16 years, and along the way has supported the likes of Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson and Giles Deacon. All the designers had to go through a rigorous vetting process, and the judges (including ELLE's very own Editor-in-Chief Lorraine Candy) hand-picked them from over 150 entries - so you can be sure that the standard is high. We can't wait to see what they all come up with....
