Thierry Mugler to re-launch womenswear?
By Emma Sells | Posted: Wed 28 Oct 2009
Legendary 1980s fashion house Thierry Mugler has been having a revival of late. The label's couture line, which was closed by the designer in 2003, was re-launched last year under former Paco Rabanne creative director, Rosemary Rodriguez, and Mugler himself has been designing the eye-popping costumes for Beyonce's Sasha Fierce tour (pictured).
Now rumours are swirling that the label may make its return to Paris Fashion Week next season with a collection of womenswear. Rodriguez held a catwalk show in Moscow this week that featured a combination of archived pieces and brand new creations, and the hope is that the womenswear line will be in full swing come Spring 2011. Given the number of designers that have referenced the 1980s bold shoulder look over the past few seasons, the revival is timely - we can't wait to see how the signature style of the house is given a modern update.
