Exclusive: ELLEuk.com can reveal Alexa Chung's new starring role for DKNY Jeans
Alexa Chung has been a poster girl for cool London style for some time now. No surprise then that following her move to New York to host her own prime time show on MTV, her look has made an impression on the U.S fashion industry too.
Replacing Daisy Lowe who was the face of DKNY's spring/summer 09 campaign, Alexa will front the autumn/winter 09 campiagn for the label, while Hilary Duff will star in a parallel campign in the U.S.
DKNY jeans told ELLEuk.com this morning that Alexa was chosen because her style epitomises that of the DKNY Jeans girl, while landing this contract came as a direct result of her recent move to the U.S. - a career move that has also seen her status as a world wide style icon sky rocket.
The ads, which will appear from August when the new season collection hits stores, were shot by legendary New York street style photographer Scott Schuman, aka The Satorialist, who apparently couldn't wait to work with Alexa.
And we're sure this won't be the last U.S campaign Miss Chung lands while living across the pond.
