Olsen twins team up with Linda Farrow to create sunglasses
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are expanding their label The Row to include a collection of sunglasses, just in time for spring/summer 2010.
The range will be produced by Linda Farrow (who also creates sunglasses for Luella and Dries Van Noten ) and will initially feature just four styles, a classic metal aviator, an oversized square frame, a vintage-inspired brown rimmed frame and a pair of round shades inspired by the 1960s. 'Designing eye wear was definitely more complicated than we thought' the girls told WWD today. But while they are happy to concentrate on perfecting their new sunglasses for next season, the duo hinted that if the collection is successful there may be room to expand to more styles, and possibly even to more accessories for The Row.
The Olsen's have already designed shoes for their Elizabeth and James label with U.S. shoe designer Steve Madden and jewellery with Robert Lee Morris.
Retailers of the new sunglasses will be confirmed next year, but are expected to be those that already stock The Row.
