Which stars hit the red carpet last night?

Last night the stars hit the red carpet in style at parties on both sides of the States.
In Los Angeles ELLE hosted its 16th annual 'Women in Hollywood' party, and Nicole Kidman, Kate Beckinsale, Katie Holmes - who wore a right-on-trend sheer dress by Azzedine Alaia - and Diane Kruger were just some of the celebs who turned out to honour the most talented ladies working in television and film today.
And in New York the Whitney Museum of Art held a gala sponsored by Versace which attracted some of the most fashion-forward A-listers in town. Donatella Versace was, of course, the guest of honour, wearing a Versace dress straight off the Spring 2010 catwalk, and the designer was joined by Lindsay Lohan, Taylor Momsen, Mischa Barton and Alexa Chung, who thanks to her MTV show is now as much of a style icon stateside as she is here.
